Tinubu Condoles with Oyo Govt, Victims Over Bomb Blast

Bola Tinubu commiserates with the Oyo State government and victims of the bomb blast while urging the apprehension of the "illegal miners".

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has expressed displeasure over the devastating bomb blast that occurred late Tuesday in Ibadan while condoling with the people of Oyo State.

His condolence message was issued by the special adviser to the President of Media and Publicity, Ngelale Ajuri, to the governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde and to the people of the state, both victims and survivors who have lost loved ones.

The explosion, however, having reported to take 2 lives and 80 others injured, has led to the Oyo State government launching an investigation into culpable perpetrators.

Tinubu expressed the sadness that comes with such a devastating incident, stating,  “It is worrisome that the cause of the blast is being attributed to the activities of illegal miners. Those behind the inexcusable and reckless behaviour that has created the conditions for the sad incident to occur must be fished out and punished.”

While the governor, shortly after the January 16th attack on his citizens, launched an investigation into the alleged “illegal miners”, the President urged that the perpetrators be unravelled.
