With a show of displeasure on the viral New Year slogan ‘No gree for anybody’, the Nigerian Police Force warns Nigerians to desist from its usage.

The spokesperson of the NPF, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, gave the warning on Arise TV press coverage as he paraded 67 suspects at the Force Headquarters in Abuja. He stated that “We have been informed from our intelligence that the slogan is coming from a revolutionary sector that may cause problems across the country. Nor dey gree for anybody is being seen as just a normal talk, but in security community, we have seen it as a very dangerous slogan that can trigger a crisis.”

The now popular phrase, ‘No gree for anybody,’ resonates with Gen Z, but the Police trample on its emergence in a sense to build up the voices of dissidents, especially after a controversial election.

Meanwhile, netizens have since taken to social media to express fully their rights to freedom of expression and association.
