FG Launches Investigation into Alleged Misuse of Funds by Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs

In response to mounting concerns and widespread public speculation, the Nigerian government has initiated a thorough investigation into the purported misallocation of public funds by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

Addressing the media on Sunday, Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

He emphasized the administration’s dedication to ensuring that public funds are utilized judiciously to address the needs of the Nigerian populace.

The allegations, which have sparked a wave of public discourse, suggest improper payments into a private account linked to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has mandated a comprehensive inquiry to verify the accuracy of these claims.

Minister Idris underscored the government’s resolve to uncover the truth surrounding the issue, affirming that any breaches or misconduct identified would be met with decisive actions in alignment with the administration’s pledge to uphold public accountability and due process.

“In light of recent events, the President has directed that a thorough and comprehensive investigation be conducted to ascertain the accuracy and validity of the reported details,” stated Minister Idris during the press briefing.

Minister Idris assured the public that only accurate updates on the investigation’s progress would be shared in a timely manner.
