Public Road Accident, FRSC Confirms 4 Persons Dead 59 Injured

The Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) Kaduna Sector Command, confirmed four commuters died and 56 others sustained injuries in a road crash on the Kaduna-Abuja expressway.

The Sector Commander, Mr Kabir Nadabo, told reporters that the public road accident occurred at Sabon Sara village along the expressway on Tuesday.

Nadabo confirmed the tragic accident involved a trailer (IVECO) with registration number MKA 99YS and it occurred at around 03:30 pm.

While stating the injured have been conveyed to St. Gerard and AP Smart Hospitals, all in Kakuri. He also confirms that further investigation of the incident shows that 73 people were involved in the crash, 59 got injured, and sadly, 4 were deceased while assuring the press that the FRSC would continue to call on the motoring public to adhere to all safety regulations on the road, as he emphasizes on the yuletide season as the most traveled period of the year, thus the frequent road traffic crashes experienced.

Nadabo praised the media for collaborating with the FRSC in spreading safety awareness and thanked the Kaduna state government for its support and interventions to FRSC activities in the state.

As he assures that the traffic corps were curtailing the menace that contributes to public road accidents, he urges the public to also take road safety measures as a priority and work with FRSC, saying,  “Together we can save lives and properties.”
