Despite a 1-1 draw against Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain clinched their ticket to the knockout rounds. The Parisians’ advancement was cemented, ultimately surpassing AC Milan, who triumphed over Newcastle, momentarily challenging their status in the group.

Despite an underwhelming performance, Barcelona assured their place in the next phase, their results proving enough to secure progression despite a 3-2 loss against Antwerp. Simultaneously, Porto seized a decisive victory against Shakhtar Donetsk, claiming a 5-3 win, affirming their spot alongside Barcelona in the Round of 16.

Tuesday night witnessed Manchester United’s exit from the tournament as they fell short in their bid for qualification. A 1-0 loss to Bayern Munich sealed their fate, marking their third elimination at the group stage since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure. After a challenging match against Copenhagen, Galatasaray conceded a 1-0 defeat, landing them in the Europa League.

Napoli’s determined display against Braga secured their passage to the next stage, defeating the Portuguese side 2-0 and ensuring their progression to second place behind Real Madrid in Group C.

Group B’s closing fixtures saw Arsenal maintain dominance with a 1-1 draw against PSV Eindhoven. Meanwhile, Lens’s 2-1 victory over Sevilla secured their spot in the Europa League, leaving the Spanish side behind.

Real Sociedad and Inter Milan had already sealed their places in the Round of 16 from Group D, with La Real ensuring the top spot with a goalless draw against Inter, cementing their position among the eight seeded teams in the draw.

Despite a 3-1 home defeat against Benfica, RB Salzburg clinched the Europa League spot from Group D, edging out Benfica on goal difference.

In the crucial Group F, Paris Saint-Germain emerged alongside Borussia Dortmund, leaving Newcastle and AC Milan disappointed in their bid for progression. While PSG secured their spot with a draw against Dortmund, the latter’s favour evaded Newcastle and Milan, ending their Champions League journey.

Group H witnessed Porto’s resounding 5-3 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk, solidifying their advancement to the Round of 16 alongside Barcelona, concluding an intense and unpredictable chapter in this season’s UEFA Champions League.

The draw for the round of 16 is set to take place on December 18, Monday at UEFA’s headquarters in Switzerland.
