Following Israel’s airstrike on the Iranian embassy in Syria, the United States is on high alert in anticipation of Iran potentially targeting Israeli or U.S. interests in retaliation.

The Israeli airstrike on the Iranian embassy in Syria resulted in the death of an Iranian military commander.

According to a U.S. official, the country is in a “high state of vigilance,” echoing concerns that Iran might target assets in the region within the week.

The attack on Monday not only took the life of the Iranian commander but also about seven Iranian military advisers, sparking Iran’s warning of a “decisive response.”

Following these developments, U.S. President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have been in close communication, with the U.S. affirming its support for Israel’s defence against Iran’s threats.
