Tyler Perry is set to write and direct the Netflix upcoming movie “Straw,” a drama featuring a stellar cast including Taraji P. Henson, Sherri Shepherd, and Teyana Taylor.
The film revolves around the journey of a single mother who finds herself grappling with a series of unfortunate events, leading her into uncharted territory.
Joining the ensemble cast are Glynn Turman, Sinbad, Rockmond Dunbar, and Mike Merrill. Alongside Perry, producers Angi Bones and Tony Strickland are on board to ensure the film’s success.
Straw” marks another milestone in Perry’s ongoing partnership with Netflix, solidifying his role as a creative force in the film industry. Under a multi-year, first-look deal, Perry continues to expand his profile with projects like “The Six Triple Eight” featuring Kerry Washington and the newly announced drama series “Beauty in Black” in the pipeline.
