Tinubu Condemns Kidnapping, Banditry, to Tackle it with Massive Education

President Bola Tinubu has denounced the recent surge in kidnappings and bandit attacks, labelling the development as “disturbing, ungodly, and sinister.”

Addressing the issue during a meeting with a delegation from Jam’iyyatu Ansaridden, a highly respected Islamic Movement, at the State House in Abuja on Tuesday, the President expressed his deep concern and commitment to tackling the security challenges head-on.

President Tinubu assured the nation that security agencies are working diligently to promptly address the prevailing challenges. He declared that all necessary resources, policies, and plans would soon be implemented to launch a massive education initiative aimed at empowering Nigerian youths. This was made known in a statement on the Presidency X  page.

During his address, President Tinubu underscored the pivotal role of education as an antidote to the issues currently troubling the nation.

He stated, “There is no weapon against poverty that is as potent as learning. I can assure you that we are here to change the lives of our people. We are here to promote peace, stability, and economic prosperity.”

Highlighting the importance of education, the President continued, “We are dedicated to building lasting peace with a focus on the comprehensive education of our children. We will engage our teachers and their institutions in a process that will be relevant to the future of this country. Knowledge brought me here with your prayers and support. Without knowledge, there is nothing to generate hope for mankind.”

President Tinubu emphasized the need to promote updated knowledge through existing Islamic learning institutions, particularly for the youth in Northern Nigeria. He stressed that this initiative would expedite development not only in the region but throughout Nigeria and Africa.

“Kidnapping and banditry are not the way of God. Shedding each other’s blood is bad, and there can be no development without peace. We must work for peace to eliminate poverty and foster economic growth,” the President concluded, urging all Nigerians to join hands in ensuring a peaceful and prosperous future.

In response, Sheikh Muhammad Lamine Niass, leader of Jam’iyyatu Ansaridden, commended President Tinubu’s commitment to reform initiatives. He pledged his movement’s unwavering support and promised to continue praying for the peaceful development of Nigeria, affirming their dedication to promoting peace and tolerance.
