President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to depart Abuja on Tuesday, April 23, for an official visit to the Netherlands. Invited by Prime Minister Mark Rutte, Tinubu is expected to engage in high-level discussions with the Prime Minister and separate meetings with King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima, the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development.

During his visit, President Tinubu is expected to participate in the Nigerian-Dutch Business and Investment Forum, which will focus on collaboration and partnerships in agriculture and water management. Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, highlighted discussions on port management operations, an area of expertise for the Netherlands.

Following his engagements in the Netherlands, President Tinubu will attend a special World Economic Forum meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from April 28 to 29. The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity made this information known on Monday.

He said that after Tinubu’s engagements in the Netherlands, “the President will proceed to attend a special World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting scheduled for April 28-29 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.”

“At the World Economic Forum meeting, which focuses on Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development, President Tinubu, and his entourage will use the opportunity of the gathering of over 1,000 leaders from business, government, and academia to engage in discussions in furtherance of his Renewed Hope Agenda for the country.

“The President will be accompanied by some ministers and other senior government officials.”

This travel arrangement is one of the many trips undertaken by the Nigerian presidency – often with little or no national benefit.
