The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially called up Remo Stars Football Club Head Coach, Daniel Ogunmodede, and Rangers head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu to assist Super Eagles Head Coach, Austin Eguavoen, in the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

This announcement was confirmed in a letter dated September 1, 2024, signed by Enebi Achor, Head of International Competitions for the NFF.

The 2025 AFCON qualifiers will see Nigeria face Benin Republic on September 7, 2024, in Uyo, and Rwanda on September 10, 2024, in Kigali.

The NFF has requested the presence of both coaches to bolster the technical team as the Super Eagles aim to secure crucial victories in these matches.

They are expected to join the team at the camp located at Four Points by Sheraton Hotel Ikot Ekpene on Monday, September 2, 2024, to commence preparations.

This announcement is coming days after Bruno Labbadia turned down the appointment to work as the head coach of Super Eagles, despite the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) announcing his appointment, and the subsequent appointment of Austin Eguavoen as interim head coach for the upcoming qualifier matches.
