Thugs allegedly shielded and aided by men of the Nigerian Police Force have attacked peaceful protesters in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.

The thugs, believed to be sponsored by the government, invaded the Alausa Secretariat to disrupt the peaceful demonstration of the #EndBadGovernance protesters.

According to a video posted by a victim of the attack on X, the hoodlums injured protesters while police officers shielded them.

“They were aided by the Police. Look at my mouth; they have injured me. They are attacking us, and the Police are supporting them,” one of the protesters cried.

Earlier, the Lagos Commissioner of Police, Fayoade Adegoke, threatened a clampdown on protesters, describing any further demonstration in the state as “unlawful and illegal”.

Over 20 persons have been killed in the protests as a result of shootings by security agents and attacks by government-sponsored thugs.
