Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has condemned the recent escalating crisis in Mangu Local Government Area that has claimed many lives and properties worth millions.
The governor made this known today in a statement released by Gyang Bere, Director of Press and Public Affairs. He expressed sadness over the situation and sympathised with the families of the victims.
“Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has strongly denounced the recent security breach that claimed numerous lives in Kwahaslalek community and various parts of Mangu Local Government Area. Expressing profound sorrow in a statement in Jos, Governor Mutfwang decried the escalating security challenges that resulted in the destruction of homes and livelihoods by suspected hoodlums.”
While calling for calm, he assured citizens of government efforts to bring a stop to the senseless attacks. “While appealing for calm and patience from citizens of the state, Governor Mutfwang assured that the government is taking proactive measures to halt further destruction of lives and property.”
Recall that the state governor had declared a 24-hour curfew in the area on Tuesday following an attack in some areas of the LGA. However, the attackers defied the curfew, killing at least 30 people, reports say.
