Plane Crash in Burkina Faso Kills Five

A private plane has crashed in the eastern region of Burkina Faso on Wednesday, March 7, killing five people and injuring two.

The crash happened when the plane, departing from Diapaga to Fada N’Gourma, hit a tree while trying to take off.

The Transportation Ministry of Burkina Faso in a statement said that the injured were quickly taken to a hospital, and officials are looking into why the crash happened.

Pictures published by the government news agency showed the burnt plane and people around it. The exact cause of the crash isn’t known yet.

Traveling between Diapaga and Fada N’Gourma in Burkina Faso has been difficult recently because of the security issues in the area.
