The Kogi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended former Senator Dino Melaye.
Melaye was suspended by the party’s executive committee in Ayetoro Gbede, Ward 1, after he failed to respond to a summon.
According to the Ward exco, the suspension was due to anti-party activities and alleged misconduct.
The decision was made during a meeting held on Friday to review the disciplinary committee’s report on the allegations against Melaye. It was signed by Ward Chairman Abayomi Osamika and Secretary Yodson Dayo.
The resolution stated that Melaye’s actions had embarrassed the party, making his membership untenable. As a result, he was suspended from the PDP, effective immediately, in line with Article 59 (1) of the party’s constitution.
