Pastor Olugbenga Olawore of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), alongside 14 other passengers, were abducted on the Lanlate-Eruwa Road in Oyo State.

The incident occurred as Pastor Olawore and his companions were travelling on a 14-seater bus, marking a distressing escalation of security concerns in the region.

Confirming the unfortunate event, SP Adewale Osifeso, the Command Public Relations Officer, affirmed that the Oyo State Police Command has initiated a thorough investigation into the kidnapping.

“Investigation is in progress. Updates will be provided accordingly, please,” Osifeso noted.

Pastor Olawore, currently serving at the Heavens Gate Parish of the RCCG in Lagos Province 73, was returning from Ipapo town.

His journey had been to oversee the final arrangements for the burial of his mother, Deaconess Deborah Olawore, scheduled for April 26.
