Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has encouraged those seeking better opportunities abroad after graduation to pursue their aspirations, vowing that a reformed Nigeria would one day attract them back home.

Obi made this statement while donating N60 million to two educational institutions in Anambra State on Tuesday.

He contributed N50 million to Peter University in Achina/Onneh and N10 million to the School of Nursing Sciences in Adazi-Nnukwu.

At the School of Nursing Sciences, Obi emphasised his commitment to advancing education, skill development, and character building.

Those of us in public life should be able to earn public trust, and that is why I am here to do as I said, he stated.

Obi encouraged students to seek growth and pursue opportunities wherever they could find them.

If it is not going to work for you here, go to where it will work for you, he told the students, adding that they would one day return to Nigeria when the nation has improved.

He shared a personal example of his former aide, Michael-Jude, who recently relocated to the United Kingdom with his nurse-wife and praised the open-door policies of countries that support young talent.

In an address at Peter University, Obi urged students to value their education, describing it as a transformative power and a foundation for national progress.

Education is the most impactful tool for societal progress. You must see yourselves as future leaders capable of driving positive change, he said.
