Nigeria Wins Big with Lookman, Nnadozie at CAF Awards 2024

Nigeria Stars Ademola Lookmanand Chiamaka Nnadozie win individual awards at the 2024 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards held in Marrakech, Morocco, on December 16, 2024.

Ademola Lookman, the 27-year-old forward, was named African Footballer of the Year, becoming the seventh Nigerian to receive this honour, with Victor Osimhen winning the award in 2023.

In the women’s category, Nigeria Super Falcons won the Women’s National Team of the Year. Chiamaka Nnadozie was awarded Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year for the second time, recognising her outstanding performance in both the club and the country.

South Africa’s Ronwen Williams also had a remarkable evening, securing the Men’s Interclub Player of the Year and Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year awards.

Zambia’s Barbra Banda was named African Women’s Player of the Year, acknowledging her contributions to Orlando Pride’s NWSL Championship win.
