Nasarawa Council Head Abducted by Gunmen

The Council Head of Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa state, Mr Safiyanu Iss Andaha, has been abducted by gunmen in a recent abduction carried out at about 8:30 in the evening of January 1st, 2024.

While the motive behind the abduction is still yet to be discovered, the Special Adviser to the Nasarawa State Governor on Local Government Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Haruna Kassimu, made the abduction of the Council Head known as it was carried out at Ninzo village on the Akwanga – Andaha road in the Akwanga Local government area of the state along with one Alhaji Adamu Custom.

The Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, said in a telephone interview, as reported by the Nigerian Tribune newsroom, that there is an ongoing collaboration of Police with other security outfits to trail the assailant to ensure the release of Safiyanu Iss Andaha and one Alhai Adamu Custom.
