Meta, the parent company of social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram, has announced the expansion of its AI service, “Meta AI,” to 12 countries outside the United States.

This rollout aims to enhance user experiences by integrating innovative tools directly within the apps, fostering creativity, productivity, and connectivity.

The countries included in this expansion are Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Canada, Australia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, and others.

Meta AI, initially unveiled at last year’s Connect event, has evolved into a comprehensive tool powered by Meta Llama three technology, seamlessly integrating into users’ daily lives.

In a blog post today, Meta highlighted the advancements made since the initial unveiling, emphasising Meta AI’s role in empowering users to accomplish tasks, acquire knowledge, foster creativity, and forge connections effortlessly.

“We’re rolling out Meta AI in English in more than a dozen countries outside of the US. Now, people will have access to Meta AI in Australia, Canada, Ghana, Jamaica, Malawi, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, Singapore, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe—and we’re just getting started,” Meta stated.

Meta emphasised the enhanced intelligence, speed, and fun offered by Meta AI, powered by the latest Meta Llama three technology. The company positioned Meta AI as the most intelligent AI assistant available for free, now accessible in more countries across its suite of apps.

Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Meta, expressed excitement about sharing the next-generation assistant with a broader audience, enabling real-time information access through seamless search integration within familiar apps.

“With our expansion of Meta AI in English to new countries, we are excited to share our next-generation assistant with even more people and make it work for you by providing real-time information through our seamless search integration in the apps you know and love,” Zuckerberg said.

Meta AI’s capabilities include generating high-quality images in real-time and creating playback videos of the creation process, revolutionising user interaction within the platforms.
