Meet The African Queens Set To Represent African Countries At Miss Universe 2024

The 73rd Miss Universe pageant is set to dazzle audiences worldwide on November 16, 2024, at Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico. The reigning Miss Universe, Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua, will crown her successor at this global celebration of beauty, culture, and empowerment.

This year, 17 African countries have confirmed their participation, with each delegate bringing unique stories, talents, and aspirations to the global stage.

Here are the African queens ready to represent the Motherland:

1.Angola

Nelma Fereirra, 26, is a seasoned pageant contestant. Previously Miss World Angola 2018 and a top finalist in Miss Universe Angola 2022, she is set to bring her poise and grace to the Miss Universe stage.

2. Botswana

Medical doctor Thanolo Keutlwile, who previously ranked among the top 5 at Miss Botswana 2021, will represent Botswana with a blend of intellect and compassion.

3. Cameroon

Noura Njikam takes the stage as Miss Universe Cameroon, aiming to make her mark at the Miss Universe 2024.

4. Côte d’Ivoire

Representing Côte d’Ivoire, 20-year-old Marie Emmanuelle Diamala holds both the titles of Miss Côte d’Ivoire and Miss Universe Côte d’Ivoire 2024.

5. Democratic Republic of Congo

Ilda Amani, 26, a finance and accounting graduate, is set to represent the Democratic Republic of Congo.

6. Egypt

Logina Salah, 34, a skin positivity advocate, embraces her unique beauty as she proudly represents Egypt. Diagnosed with vitiligo at a young age, she has become a beacon of skin positivity for others.

7. Equatorial Guinea

Diana Angono Mouhafo, a 24-year-old marketing coordinator, will showcase Equatorial Guinea’s spirit on the Miss Universe stage.

8. Guinea

Making history as Guinea’s first-ever Miss Universe contestant, Saran Bah, 29, is a seasoned model with international recognition, including a top-40 placement at Miss World 2021.

9. Kenya

Irene Ng’endo Mukii, a 26-year-old dancer, philanthropist, and software engineer, marks Kenya’s return to Miss Universe after a two-year absence.

10. Mauritius

Tania René, a 27-year-old model and project manager, will represent Mauritius.

11. Nigeria

Chidimma Adetshina’s journey to Miss Universe has been unique. Born in Soweto, South Africa to a Nigerian father and Mozambican mother, she initially joined Miss South Africa Pageant but withdrew due to online criticism about her Nigerian heritage. Invited by Miss Universe Nigeria, she ultimately won the crown and will proudly represent Nigeria.

12. Senegal

Representing Senegal at Miss Universe 2024 is Fatou Bintou Gueye, the first runner-up at Miss Senegal 2024. The 23-year-old beauty, born and raised in Dakar, will carry Senegal’s hopes in Mexico as she steps onto the international stage.

13. Somalia

Khadija Omar, a makeup artist and entrepreneur, was the first hijabi contestant at Miss World 2021. She aims to represent Black Muslim girls globally.

14. South Africa

Mia le Roux, crowned Miss South Africa 2024, is set to make history as the first deaf contestant from South Africa to compete in Miss Universe.

15. Tanzania

Representing Tanzania is 26-year-old Judith Ngusa, who will bring her charm and determination to the competition.

16. Zambia

Brandina Lubuli, previously Mrs. Glam Zambia 2022, now holds the title of Miss Universe Zambia 2024.

17. Zimbabwe

Sakhile Dube, a former Miss Tourism and Miss Earth Zimbabwe, recently placed in the Top 24 at Miss Supranational 2023 and won Miss Supranational Africa.

Each of these African queens will bring a powerful narrative to the Miss Universe 2024 stage, promising to showcase the strength, resilience, and diversity of the African continent.
