Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) carried out a successful offensive operation against a terrorist group entrenched in the northern village of Anomalan on June 12, 2025. The operation occurred approximately 40 kilometres north of Aguelhoc amid an ongoing logistics escort mission between Anefis and Aguelhoc.

According to sources, the mission was part of a broader strategy to secure supply routes and disrupt the activities of armed terrorist groups operating in the Kidal region.

Intelligence reports had indicated the presence of hostile elements in Anomalan, prompting the FAMa to engage decisively.

This latest offensive underscores the commitment of the Malian Armed Forces to combat terrorism and restore peace in the country’s volatile northern regions. Officials have reaffirmed their determination to continue neutralising threats and protecting the population.

The operation is part of ongoing national and regional efforts to stabilise Mali, where terrorist groups have maintained a presence despite continuous counter-insurgency operations.
