586

Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) successfully dismantled a terrorist base in the northern region of Ménaka, marking a major victory in the country’s ongoing efforts to restore stability and security.

According to AESInfo, the offensive destroyed the enemy base. Several suspected militants were captured alive, and a significant cache of weapons and equipment was seized. The operation dealt a heavy blow to armed groups operating in the region, known for sporadic violence and insecurity.

The northern regions of Mali have long been a hotspot for extremist activity, with various insurgent groups vying for control and influence. However, recent months have seen a ramp-up in coordinated military campaigns aimed at dismantling these networks.

Recall (FAMa) recently successfully repelled a terrorist attack on their military base in Boulkessi, near Douentza, on June 1, 2025, according to an official communiqué released by the military.

Ongoing military operations have led to the destruction of multiple strategic terrorist hideouts in the surrounding region.
