Mali Hosts Nigerian Defence Chief for Talks on Regional Security

The Nigerian Minister of Defence, Mohamed Badaru Aboubacar, visited Bamako on Wednesday, November 13, for a working visit aimed at strengthening military cooperation between Nigeria and Mali. On arrival, his Malian counterpart, Minister of Defence and Veterans Affairs, Sadio Camara, received him.

The two ministers held a one-on-one meeting focused on deepening collaboration in the fight against terrorism, a significant security challenge across the Sahel and West Africa. According to the Malian Armed Forces, the discussions emphasised joint strategies, experience sharing, and reinforcing the security partnership between the two nations.

Officials described the visit as a demonstration of Mali and Nigeria’s commitment to coordinating their efforts in addressing regional threats and enhancing stability in the subregion.
