John Legend headlined the Lagos edition of Global Citizen’s Move Afrika concert, delivering an electrifying performance at The Palms, Victoria Island, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

The concert, which marked Move Afrika’s first stop in Nigeria, brought together music, art, and advocacy. Hosted by media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, the night featured performances from Nigerian stars Simi and DJ Consequence, alongside vibrant displays from local artisans.

The highlight of the sold-out event was John Legend’s performance, where the EGOT-winning artist performed crowd favourites like Ordinary People, Green Light, All of Me, and Refuge. He also shared the stage with Simi, delighting fans with their duet of “Refuge”.

At the event, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu praised the initiative, saying that music and culture can unite people and drive positive change.

John Legend expressed his gratitude on Instagram, “Thank you, Lagos. Last night was fantastic. What a beautiful crowd!”

Move Afrika’s Lagos edition is part of a broader plan to create a pan-African touring circuit following its debut in Kigali, Rwanda.
