British singer Adele has announced that she will be taking a significant break from music following the conclusion of her European tour. The 16-time Grammy winner shared this news with her audience in Munich, Germany, during her final European show on Saturday, 31st August, 2024.
On Saturday, Adele thanked everyone who came to her show. Adele acknowledged her skill and enjoyment from performing over the past three years. “I’m not the most comfortable performer, but I am very f****** good at it,” she stated.
The grammy-winner added that she had 10 shows after the Munich show, which will be five weeks of shows. “And after that, I will not see you for long, and I will hold you… dear in my heart for the whole next of my break, and I will fantasise about these shows and any shows that I have done over the last three years.
Adele explained that after seven years of hard work, she wants to enjoy the life she has meticulously built. “I’ve spent the last seven years creating a life for myself, and now I want to live it,” she told the audience, adding, “It has been amazing, but I just need a rest.”
This announcement marks the second hiatus for Adele in recent years, as she stepped back from the music scene to focus on her family and personal life.
Adele had earlier confirmed her engagement to her American boyfriend, Rich Paul, during a performance in Munich on August 9 after a fan at the concert proposed to her. Adele responded, “I can’t marry you because I’m already getting married,” as she showed off her ring.
