I didn’t Insult Tinubu, What I Said Was Out Of Patriotism – Ndume Maintains As APC Moves To Reinstate Him

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), led by Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, summoned Senator Ali Ndume on Tuesday to explain his recent comments against President Bola Tinubu, which led to Ndume’s removal as Senate Whip.

Ndume had, during an interview with journalists, alleged that President Bola Tinubu had been caged and was unaware of the severe hunger being experienced in the country. Following his criticisms, the NWC wrote the Godswill Akpabio-led Senate to strip Ndume of his position as the Senate Chief Whip.

After the meeting, Ganduje said the party was satisfied with Ndume’s apology and would convey the same to the leadership of the Senate to have it review the Borno Senator’s position.

However, addressing journalists after a meeting with APC’s NWC, the Ndume said:

That is something that is moving forward, but whatever I said or did was out of patriotism, and those issues may be told firmly, but they are true, but then I should have talked to the party at the last bus stop.”

“The President and the Senate have nothing to do with this; the President did not take offence, I didn’t insult the President, I didn’t say anything against the party, but I left the party out of reach on issues, and so, please I think that is all I can say.
