Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State celebrated completing and commissioning the renovated tennis court at the Makurdi Club.
The event, held in Makurdi, the capital city of Benue State, drew attention from various quarters as the governor emphasised the importance of enhancing recreational facilities.
Today, I am delighted to announce the successful completion and commissioning of the renovated tennis court at the Makurdi Club, located in the heart of Makurdi, Benue State, in our ongoing efforts to enhance recreational facilities within our beloved state, he wrote on X.
However, Netizens and critics questioned the appropriateness of a state leader celebrating what they deemed a trivial project, especially in light of more urgent needs such as infrastructure development, healthcare, agriculture and education.
When others are commissioning 1,000 tractors for cultivation, you are commissioning Tennis club. Shame shame shame shame. By now, you should be commissioning 1,000,000 hectares of virgin land being cultivated? We expect better from you Reverend Father
