Disney has released the highly anticipated trailer for its live-action remake of Snow White, revealing Rachel Zegler as the iconic princess, the seven dwarfs, and Gal Gadot in a menacing role as the evil queen. The film, directed by Marc Webb, promises a fresh yet nostalgic take on the classic 1937 animation Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
The trailer highlights Zegler’s enchanting singing voice, a key element in this reimagining of the beloved fairy tale. The story follows Snow White as she escapes her wicked stepmother, who is consumed by jealousy and orders her assassination. Fleeing into the mystical forest, Snow White stumbled upon a magical cottage inhabited by seven dwarfs who became her unexpected allies.
Joining Zegler and Gadot are Andrew Burnap, Martin Klebba, and Ansu Kabia in supporting roles. The screenplay is done by Greta Gerwig, known for her work on Barbie, and Erin Cressida Wilson, writer of The Girl on the Train. The live-action remake aims to balance the charm of the original story with modern storytelling techniques.
Scheduled for release on March 21, 2025, Snow White adds to Disney’s growing list of live-action adaptations, a trend that has seen commercial successes and creative challenges. Previous remakes such as The Lion King (2019), featuring Beyoncé, and Moana (live-action set for 2026) have drawn mixed responses but continue to captivate audiences worldwide.
With a blend of iconic characters, new musical numbers, and a star-studded cast, Snow White is poised to be another major cinematic event for Disney fans and newcomers alike.
