Beyoncé’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ Gallops to No. 1 on Billboard 200 with Record-Breaking Debut

564

Beyoncé’s latest album, “Cowboy Carter,” rides into the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart, debuting with an impressive 407,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. It marks her eighth No. 1 album on the all-genre Billboard 200, boasting the biggest week of 2024 and the largest since Taylor Swift’s “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” in November 2023. Additionally, it’s Beyoncé’s largest week, by units, since her acclaimed “Lemonade” album in 2016.

Notably, “Cowboy Carter” also dominates Billboard’s Top Country Albums, Americana/Folk Albums, and Top Album Sales charts, making Beyoncé the first Black woman to lead the Top Country Albums list. The album’s success is further propelled by its singles, “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages,” both making waves on the Hot Country Songs chart.

This achievement adds to Beyoncé’s impressive record of eight No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200, surpassing Janet Jackson. With sales supported by various album configurations and a diverse lineup of guest artists, including Dolly Parton and Post Malone, “Cowboy Carter” solidifies Beyoncé’s position as a powerhouse in the music industry.

In other chart news, J-Hope’s “Hope On the Street, Vol. 1” debuts at No. 5, while Olivia Rodrigo’s “Guts” and Taylor Swift’s “Lover” maintain strong positions within the top 10.
