Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, also known as Phyna, winner of Big Brother Naija Season 7, expressed frustration over the non-fulfilment of her promised prizes worth over ₦100 million.

Despite her efforts to claim the rewards dating back to 2022, Phyna finds herself entangled in a frustrating dispute with the show’s sponsors, particularly Quidax Global, a crypto firm. While some sponsors have honoured their commitments, Quidax’s reluctance to provide the pledged 1BTC has distressed Phyna.

Otabor went live on Instagram on Thursday, May 23, 2024, to express her distraught. She directed her anguish towards MultiChoice Nigeria, the show organisers, urging them to intervene and secure her rightful prize. With tears in her eyes, she questioned the delay and emphasised her contractual relationship solely with MultiChoice, distancing herself from Quidax, hence, why Multichoice should get her money from Quidax.

I agree you’ve done your worst, then pay me what I won. Pay me my prize. Could you give me my money, let me go? You people will just come and make somebody look like a fool. You people will just… 1BTC 2022 isn’t the same as 2024. As of today, 1BTC is over ₦100m. As of 2022, 1BTC was ₦22m; why didn’t you fucking give it to me then? Why now?

While most show sponsors in 2022 have responded positively, Quidax remains the lone holdout, leaving Phyna’s quest for justice unresolved.
