In a not-so-surprising turn of events, Daniel Bwala, a prominent chieftain of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has sparked controversy with his apparent about-face regarding his stance on supporting President Bola Tinubu’s administration and a potential defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Just weeks after publicly declaring his commitment to backing President Tinubu’s administration, even hinting at a possible defection to the APC if necessary, Bwala’s recent actions have left many scratching their heads in disbelief.

Atiku's campaign spokesperson visits Tinubu, says he has no apologies

The latest twist in Bwala’s political trajectory came to light today as he took to his X page to share the image of his meeting with President Tinubu in Paris, France.

In his post, Bwala effusively praised the President, referring to him as the “father of the nation” and commending his leadership qualities.

This stark departure from his previous stance as a vocal critic of the APC raises serious questions about Bwala’s consistency and integrity as a political figure. The disparity between his earlier calls for opposition unity and his sudden embrace of the very leader he once opposed vehemently.

Many have even wasted no time in accusing Bwala of opportunism and hypocrisy, suggesting that his newfound affinity for President Tinubu may be motivated by personal gain rather than genuine conviction.

Some view his apparent flip-flop as a betrayal of the opposition cause and a setback for efforts to build a viable alternative to the ruling APC.
