Mali has become the new showcase for Turkish defence technology in Africa as it hosts BAMEX 2025, the country’s first International Defence and Security Exhibition, organised by Turkish companies. The event will take place from November 11 to 14, 2025, at the Bamako Exhibition Park.

The exhibition aims to present Turkey’s cutting-edge military and security technologies to African nations, underscoring Ankara’s growing influence in the continent’s defence landscape.

President Assimi Goïta hailed the event as a milestone in Mali’s military modernisation efforts, declaring that “Mali is now well equipped with state-of-the-art weaponry.”

The launch of BAMEX 2025 marks the deepening of the strategic partnership between Mali and Turkey, which is built on defence cooperation, arms supplies, and security training. It also signals Bamako’s rising prominence in regional security affairs, particularly as the Sahel continues to grapple with instability and terrorism.

Analysts say the exhibition could pave the way for new defence contracts and joint ventures between Turkey and several African countries seeking to diversify their military partnerships beyond traditional Western allies.
