Nigerian model Samuel Nwajagu has made history as the first African to win the prestigious Mister International pageant.

The 16th edition of the competition, held on December 14, 2024, at Island Hall, Fashion Island, Bangkok, Thailand, featured contestants from 47 countries showcasing their talents and diversity. Nwajagu’s charm and confidence propelled him to victory, earning him the title after being crowned Mister International Nigeria in July.

In the final round, Nwajagu competed against Nguyễn Mạnh Lân from Vietnam and Glenn Victor Sutanto from Indonesia, securing the top spot. He was crowned by Kim Thitisan Goodburn of Thailand, the outgoing Mister International.

This achievement further highlights Nigeria’s growing presence in global pageantry. Recently, Chidimma Adetshina has placed the first runner-up at Miss Universe and was crowned Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, setting another benchmark for the country.

In his appreciation speech, Nwajagu encouraged others to pursue their dreams with determination:

All great things start from small beginnings. Don’t be afraid to take that bold step because where dreams meet, determination is where greatness follows.
