Miss Universe Panama 2024, Italy Mora, Dismissed From Miss Universe Pageant

Miss Universe Panama, Italy Mora, has been officially removed from the Miss Universe 2024 competition following a decision by the Miss Universe Organization’s disciplinary commission. The organisation confirmed her dismissal on November 2 on their website, citing the need to uphold the pageant’s values and integrity.

In a statement on its website, the Miss Universe Organisation (MUO) explained that Mora’s case underwent a thorough evaluation by the disciplinary commission. The organisation emphasised the importance of confidentiality throughout the process, stating that “Confidentiality is a fundamental pillar of any disciplinary process. By protecting sensitive and personal information, we not only ensure fairness and equity in our decisions but also uphold the dignity of all involved.”

Although details of the incident remain undisclosed by the MUO, Mora took to social media, claiming she was removed due to an “unauthorised departure” from her hotel room. In an Instagram story, which has since disappeared, she expressed disappointment, calling the organisation’s response “a severe measure” that could have been handled “with a dialogue or a warning.”

Mora also dismissed rumours about her departure, including allegations of a physical altercation with another contestant and an alleged visit from her boyfriend upon arrival in Mexico. She clarified these claims, aiming to quash speculation around her sudden exit.

The Miss Universe Organization has requested the public to respect the decision and all parties involved, thanking Mora and her supporters for their dedication to the event’s mission. They reaffirmed their commitment to being a platform for inspiration and positive change.

The 73rd Miss Universe pageant, with 129 contestants still in the running, will be held on November 16 in Mexico.
