Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has announced that the third Russia-Africa summit will take place in an African country in the next two to three years.

The previous summits were held in Sochi in 2019 and St. Petersburg in 2023.

Speaking in an interview with Sky News Arabia, Lavrov said the meeting will be organised as planned in the last summit.

He also said an action plan has been developed by the diplomats in collaboration with the African Union Commission and the Russian government, which will guide the partnership until 2026.

The action plan, he said, “covers all spheres of our interaction: from the economy and investments to the social sphere, including education and cultural exchanges.

“We note the sincere and mutual interest of African friends in the development of cooperation,” he added.
