Business people from Burkina Faso and Iran agreed on Tuesday to strengthen economic ties and explore new trade opportunities during a video conference.

The meeting, organised by the Burkina Faso embassy in Iran, was aimed at increasing the awareness of customs and tax regulations in both countries in order to boost their economic growth.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Burkina Faso announced that the video conference sought to bridge the information gap on business opportunities between the two nations.

According to Burkinabe Ambassador Mohamadi Kaboré, key areas of interest between the two countries include agriculture, agro-industry, renewable energy, expert training, and technology transfer. Kaboré said the sectors above were potential growth opportunities for both countries.
