PIDOMNigeria Moved To NCCC For ‘Interrogations’ Despite Deteriorating Health

Isaac Bristol, the detained individual alleged by the Nigerian police to be behind the anonymous X whistleblower handle PIDOMNigeria, has reportedly been moved to the National Cybercrime Centre (NCCC) for ‘interrogations’.

West Africa Weekly gathered that he was moved Tuesday evening to the NCCC in the company of his Investigating Police Officer (IPO) despite his deteriorating health conditions without the knowledge of his legal team.

Before moving him to NCCC, PIDOM was denied access to his legal team, including family and friends, a gross violation of his human rights.

The NCCC on Saturday gave a “new directive” that no one should be allowed to see him at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID). This violation has greatly impacted his access to food, toiletries and communication with his family and legal team.

West Africa Weekly reported that following public demand for PIDOM’s unconditional release, the Nigeria Police Force moved to transfer him to an underground detention facility run by the Office of the National Security Adviser, further taking him away from public eyes.

The Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi earlier today warned that Nigeria risks degenerating into a “banana republic” if actions like PIDOM’s abduction continue unchecked.
