Comedy Central has announced that the animated series Everybody Still Hates Chris, based on the life of comedian Chris Rock, will premiere on September 25. This new show is a continuation of the hit sitcom Everybody Hates Chris, which aired from 2005 to 2009.

Like the original live-action series, the animated version will also feature Chris Rock narrating his experiences growing up in Brooklyn. The series will bring back several familiar voices from the original cast, with Tichina Arnold and Terry Crews reprising their roles as Chris’ parents, Rochelle and Julius. Tim Johnson Jr. will voice the young Chris, while Terrence Little Gardenhigh and Ozioma Akagha will lend their voices to Chris’ siblings, Drew and Tonya. Gunnar Sizemore will take on the role of Greg, Chris’ only friend.

The development of Everybody Still Hates Chris began in 2021 under CBS Studios, specifically through its animation division, Eye Animation Productions. The series was officially ordered by Comedy Central in 2022, marking another collaboration between CBS Studios, Chris Rock Enterprises, and 3 Arts Entertainment. The network has also unveiled a first look at the animated Rock family before the series debut, building anticipation for the show’s return.
