Following Peter Okoye’s open letter to his twin brother Paul Okoye on X (formerly Twitter) concerning the PSquare split, he promised to unveil the issue behind the Economic and Financial Crime Commission saga with his brothers. Peter has asserted that he never petitioned his twin brother Paul to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). In another post on social media, Peter clarified the circumstances surrounding the ongoing investigation, which he asserts centres on financial misconduct by their elder brother, Jude Okoye, and his wife, Ifeoma.
According to Peter, Paul had accused him of filing a petition with the EFCC that led to Paul being asked to provide a surety, suggesting a possible detention. Peter, however, insists that these claims are false.
The crux of the issue, Peter revealed, lies in discovering a secret company, Northside Music, which resembles their management company, Northside Entertainment. To his surprise, this company was founded and directed by their elder brother, Jude Okoye and his wife, Ifeoma. Despite approaching Paul multiple times about the matter, Peter said Paul denied any knowledge of the company or the misappropriated royalties.
Peter challenged anyone to produce evidence of a petition against Paul, stating that his legal team was instructed to focus solely on the primary suspect – Jude and Ifeoma Okoye. He expressed shock at Paul’s public statements and reiterated that Paul was only invited for questioning due to his association with Northside Music, similar to other industry figures
I am still writing this with so much shock because I gave clear instructions to my legal team, with a standing order, that under no circumstances should Paul be included in my petition. Their focus was to remain solely on the primary suspects, Jude Okoye and his wife, Ifeoma Okoye – since they were the directors of this secret company.
Peter disclosed that Jude had admitted to diverting millions of dollars and hundreds of millions of Naira from P-Square’s royalties to the secret company, Northside Music. These funds were allegedly funnelled into Jude’s bank account through a bureau de change. A review of the account revealed multiple transactions where the funds were split with Paul, excluding Peter. “This was not just a minor issue – it was a massive betrayal that had been going on for several years”.
Jude reportedly claimed that the money transferred to Paul was repayment for a loan related to selling their house in America rather than an attempt to hide funds from Peter. This explanation, Peter suggests, is why Paul has been asserting that the EFCC cleared him of wrongdoing.
Peter concluded his letter by stating that further details would be shared once the EFCC concludes its investigation and a final report is provided. “The story is very long, but I will tell it all in due time. For now, I will stop here until the EFCC sends the final report to my legal team”. He promised to release the petition, EFCC report, and other documents, including financial statements and company registration details, in due course.
