15-Year-Old Becomes First Sierra Leonean to Qualify For Junior Olympic Games

A 15-year-old named Peter Bewie emerged as the first Sierra Leonean athlete to qualify for the Junior Olympic Games during his participation at the qualifiers, which were held in Columbus, Ohio.

This was confirmed by the Sierra Leone Aquatics Association (SLAA).

The next Junior Olympic Games is set to take place in Senegal in 2026.

SLAA officials said Bewie has been “training diligently, and his performances speak volumes about his potential.”

We are immensely proud of his accomplishments and eagerly anticipate future successes, SLAA added.

The 15-year-old made his international debut in 2023 at the Africa Aquatics Zone 2 Swimming Tournament Championships in Accra, Ghana.
