The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested 60 people at an apartment in Sun City Estate, Federal Capital Territory Abuja, during a raid on Friday targeting illegal drug activities.

The suspects, including 25 men and 35 women, were caught at a drug party named “Go Hard or Go Home: Pick Your Poison.” The raid was based on credible information, and the party organiser, Stanley Ikechukwu, was arrested. Six of the suspects were identified as Victoria Adoga, Hamza Yari, Joanne Essein Joy, Socchima Valentine, Jago Imole, and Charles Indobuibisi. They were found with ecstasy and cannabis.

NDLEA Chairman, Brig Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), directed that 20 suspects who tested negative for drugs be released, while 33 others who tested positive be released on bail and report for treatment and counselling on Monday.

In another operation, NDLEA arrested four suspects in a forest in Edo State on Saturday, June 29, and destroyed over 18,000 kilograms of cannabis on 7.45 hectares of farmland.

The NDLEA Chairman warned drug traffickers that the agency, with the help of its partners, will continue to stay ahead of their tactics. He encouraged NDLEA officers to maintain their balanced approach to drug control.
