Nollywood actress Evan Okoro  has cried out to the Governor of Delta State on the ongoing demolition of buildings and properties at Musa camp, 74 Asaba Delta State, opposite Dennis Osadebe University

She took to social media to plead for mercy as the Delta State Government razed her home along with her entire life savings.

@sheriffoborevwori please sir listen to our cry and tamper justice with mercy 🙏🙏🙏…. Our properties is at Musa camp, 74 Asaba delta state opposite Dennis Osadebe university, she posted on IG,

The demolition, initiated by the Delta State Taskforce on Recovery of Government Lands, was said to have targeted illegal structures erected on lands belonging to Dennis Osadebay University in Anwai-Asaba.

Led by Chairman Chief Frank Omare, the task force executed the demolition following the expiration of notices issued to illegal property owners to vacate the land.

Chief Omare, addressing journalists during the demolition exercise, emphasised the government’s commitment to reclaiming lands unlawfully occupied across the state.

He cited the encroachment of over 1000 structures on university property.

We cannot allow land grabbers to begin to sell all kinds of lands, Chief Omare stated.

Reacting to claims of unfair treatment, Chief Omare asserted that the government had provided adequate notice and even engaged in town hall meetings to inform affected parties. He emphasised that no individual, regardless of status, would be spared from enforcement actions if found guilty of illegal occupation.

Meanwhile, officials from Dennis Osadebay University expressed gratitude for the government’s intervention, affirming that the demolished land was designated for the university’s Faculty of Agriculture.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Robert Oghenedoro Dode debunked rumours of land sales by the university, urging those making such claims to provide evidence or face legal action.
