Britain’s Prince Harry and his wife Meghan are slated to visit Nigeria in May to discuss the Invictus Games.

The visit was announced by Nigerian defence spokesman Brig. Gen. Tukur Gusau.

Though the specific date is unknown, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s visit to Nigeria will occur after Prince Harry attends a service at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Games.

Prince Harry founded the Invictus Games in 2014. Inspired by the Warriors Games in the United States, the Invictus Games was formed to support the rehabilitation of wounded service members and veterans.

During his stay in Nigeria, Prince Harry plans to partake in cultural events and hold talks to strengthen Nigeria’s involvement in the Invictus Games and potentially host the event in future years.

His commitment to veteran support was also echoed in his recent Netflix series, where he discussed his struggles with post-traumatic stress disorder following his military service in Afghanistan and the death of his mother, Princess Diana.
