The Black Book Filmmaker, Editi Effiong Gets Signed by Hollywood Agency

Nigerian filmmaker Editi Effiong, whose debut feature “The Black Book” became one of Netflix’s most-viewed English-language African films last year, has been signed by a Hollywood agency, Zero Gravity Management.

Effiong’s The Black Book, a revenge thriller starring Richard Mofe-Damijo, a bereaved deacon seeking justice for his framed son, debuted at No. 3 on Netflix in September 2023. It quickly climbed to the Top 10 in over 69 countries, showcasing its widespread appeal. The film was written, directed, and produced by Effiong.

With headquarters in Los Angeles, Zero Gravity Management is a comprehensive production company engaged in developing, financing, executing, and selling projects spanning film, television, and new media. Their impressive filmography includes acclaimed titles such as “Ozark,” “The Accountant,” “Beast of No Nation,” and several action films featuring Liam Neeson.

Effiong founded Anakle Films in 2018 and boasts of two theatrical releases acquired by Netflix, “Up North” and “The Setup”.
