Nigerian Teen Earns $3.5 Million in Scholarships from Ivy League Universities

A 17-year-old Nigerian student, Oluwafemi Ositade, has clinched full scholarships to multiple Ivy League universities in the United States, including Harvard, alongside other prestigious institutions in Canada and Qatar.

Ositade, a student of The Ambassadors College Ota, class of 2023, amassed over $3.5 million in scholarship offers due to his exceptional SAT performance, scoring a perfect 800/800 in Maths and a near-perfect 760 in reading and writing, coupled with a stellar CGPA of 4.04/4.0 from college.

His academic prowess has garnered him 14 scholarship offers, with nine being full scholarships covering all expenses. The universities extending offers include Harvard University, Brown University, Duke University, University of Toronto Lester B Pearson Scholarship, and others.

In addition to excelling in standardised tests, Ositade ranked as the second best in Nigeria for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) with a score of 358 and achieved eight A’s and one B2 in the 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). He has also represented his schools in various local and international competitions, earning numerous accolades.

With a passion for Quantum Computing and Mathematics, Ositade intends to pursue a degree in Computational Physics, aiming to make significant strides in his field. He credits his alma mater, The Ambassadors College, Ota, for nurturing his success through its structured academic program blending British and Nigerian curricula and offering specialised courses like SAT and IELTS.

Expressing profound gratitude for his acceptance, Ositade attributed his achievements to God Almighty and underscored the opportunities available for Nigerian youths to excel on the global academic stage.
