All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ganduje Ward, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, has been embroiled in a factional dispute, resulting in the suspension of the party's National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ganduje Ward, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, has been embroiled in a factional dispute, resulting in the suspension of the party’s National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.

The saga began when the ward’s Legal Adviser, Haladu Gwanjo, announced Ganduje’s suspension, citing allegations of corruption and other misconduct. Gwanjo, along with nine other executive members, claimed to have taken this decision, sparking controversy within the party.

However, the state branch of the APC  moved to quell the move, suspending the ward executives for their roles in the suspension.

Ahmad Ganduje, the ward chairman, rallied behind Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, expressing satisfaction with his leadership and urging party members to remain calm.

Despite this, a new faction emerged, proclaiming themselves as the legitimate executives of Ganduje ward.

Led by Ja’afar Ganduje, the faction announced a fresh suspension of Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, alleging anti-party activities during the last general election and failure to pay statutory dues to the party, PUNCH reported.

Ja’afar Ganduje attributed the faction’s decision to Ganduje’s alleged contribution to internal conflict within the party at the ward level, which they claim has tarnished the party’s reputation.

He emphasized the need to restore order and discipline within the party ranks.

“We are the authentic executives of Ganduje ward,” Ja’afar Ganduje noted, “and we have passed a vote of no confidence and imposed a new suspension on Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for a series of reasons.”
