The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has said some parts of Ibadan would experience power interruption due to the annual preventive maintenance on its T2 60MVA 132/33kV power transformer in its Ibadan-North Transmission Substation on Thursday, 18th April 2024.

The company disclosed this in a statement on its social media handle on Wednesday through its Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah.

It said the areas that will experience blackouts include, Adogba, Alakia, Ibadan-North, IITA, and Odogbo Barracks, stating that the maintenance will last for seven hours, between 10:00 am and 05:00 pm.

The statement read:

“The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) hereby states that its maintenance crew will carry out annual preventive maintenance on its T2 60MVA 132/33kV power transformer in its Ibadan-North Transmission Substation on Thursday, 18th April 2024.

“The maintenance exercise will last for seven hours from 10:00 am to 05:00 pm. Consequently, there will be power interruption in ADOGBA, ALAKIA, IBADAN-NORTH, IITA and ODOGBO BARRACKS on the stated date as TCN will be unable to transmit bulk power to Ibadan DisCo through the said transformer for seven hours.”

However, TCN assured that it would restore bulk power supply through the transformers by 5pm upon completion of the maintenance.
