In a recent announcement on SNEP’s official Instagram account dated March 25, 2023, it was revealed that the album ‘Raves & Roses’ has achieved a remarkable milestone by surpassing over 500,000 units sold. Released in March 2022, the album gained significant anticipation with the release of hit singles like ‘Soundgasm’ and ‘Calm Down’.

The standout success of ‘Calm Down’, particularly its Selena Gomez remix, has been instrumental in driving the album’s popularity. Notably, ‘Calm Down’ made history as the first Afrobeats song to exceed 1 billion Spotify streams. The song’s music video has also garnered over 830 million views on YouTube, setting a new Nigerian record. Additionally, ‘Calm Down’ holds the distinction of being the highest-charting Nigerian song on the Billboard Hot 100, reaching No. 3 and spending over 52 weeks on the chart.

Achieving diamond certification in France further solidifies the success of ‘Calm Down’. This prestigious recognition, shared by only a select few Afrobeats records including Burna Boy’s ‘On The Low’ and ‘Last Last’, Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush’, Oxlade’s ‘Kulosa’, and CKay’s ‘Love Nwantiti’, underscores the song’s global impact.

Moreover, ‘Raves & Roses’ earning diamond certification in France marks a significant achievement for SNEP, as it becomes only the second Nigerian album to receive this esteemed certification after Burna Boy’s Grammy-nominated fifth album ‘African Giant’.

The success of ‘Raves & Roses’ and ‘Calm Down’ not only showcases the talent and creativity of Nigerian artists but also highlights the growing influence of Afrobeats music on the international stage.
