Korede Bello Applauds Rise of Young Artists in Music Industry

812

Singer Korede Bello recently shared his perspective on the current wave of young artists, expressing satisfaction with their emergence and dominance in the Nigerian and international music scenes. In an interview with The Punch, he commended the industry’s youthful energy and ambition, noting that it bodes well for its global reach.

Bello acknowledged the shift from past eras when artists often faced years of struggle before achieving fame, with only a small fraction eventually succeeding. He highlighted the advantage of young artists starting early and attaining success while still in their youth.

However, he raised concerns about the potential impact on the quality of music as younger artists may have limited life experiences from which to draw. Bello emphasized the authenticity and depth of storytelling in music, citing examples of legendary artists like Fela, King Sunny Ade, Ebenezer Obey, Bob Marley, and 2pac, whose rich life experiences shaped their artistry and conveyed valuable lessons to listeners.

Despite these concerns, Bello expressed optimism that the music industry’s global expansion signifies progress and looks forward to continued growth and evolution in the field.
