Anthony Joshua delivered a stunning knockout to defeat Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia on Friday night, moving him closer to a fight for the heavyweight championship.
In the second round, Joshua knocked down Ngannou, a former UFC heavyweight champion, three times, finishing him with a powerful hit that left Ngannou unable to continue.
This win is viewed as one of Joshua’s most impressive knockout, building on his recent victories. This victory also sets him up for a potential match with the winner of Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk’s upcoming fight in May.
Joshua praised the Cameroonian after the fight, saying, “When I saw the fight with Fury, I thought damn, this guy could fight. I wanted a piece of that.
“He’s an inspiration, a great champion, and this shouldn’t take away from his capabilities. He can come again. I told him he shouldn’t leave boxing. He’s two fights in, and he’s fought the best.
“He can go a long way if he stays dedicated,” the British added.

Joshua’s focus and speed were on full display as he dominated Ngannou. The former proved why he is still a major contender in the heavyweight division.
“Francis Ngannou beat the WBC heavyweight champion of the world – I should be WBC heavyweight champion of the world,” quipped Joshua, the two-time former unified world heavyweight champion.
He continued, “He’s a dreamer, a risk-taker, that story of his should not be clouded by tonight.”
The victory over Ngannou marks a significant moment for Joshua, who has rebounded impressively from previous setbacks in his career.
With his sights now set on the heavyweight title, Joshua is eager for the next challenge and the opportunity to reclaim his place at the top of the boxing world.
